🛣️ About Earl’s Motor Court
A Vintage Stay with Heart on Route 66
Tucked along the eastern edge of Winslow, Arizona, Earl’s Motor Court is a lovingly preserved slice of Route 66 history. Originally opened around 1952 as the Marble Motel, this classic roadside motor court has been cared for by Angela and Blas since 2018. With a deep appreciation for authenticity and hospitality, they’ve restored the property one piece at a time—right down to the vintage furnishings and handmade quilt bedspreads in each room.
When they took over, only five rooms were still in service. Two others had been converted into a hair salon and photo studio. Today, all seven rooms are open to guests once again. Angela and Blas live on-site, handling daily operations with the help of a dedicated housekeeper, ensuring that every stay is comfortable, personal, and well cared for.
Reservations are made the old-fashioned way—by phone or email—so that each guest is welcomed intentionally. No locals, no long-term tenants—just travelers looking for something real. The result is a quiet, safe, and nostalgic space for road trippers, motorcyclists, and vintage car lovers alike.
Despite the challenges of maintaining a 70-year-old building, the pride shows in every detail. Guest rooms are immaculate, the grounds are thoughtfully kept, and journals in each room invite guests to share stories for those who come after. The motto here is simple: Arrive as a guest, leave as family.
For Angela, the connection to Winslow runs deep. Her mother once ran Irene’s, a small roadside diner nearby. That very building—an original prefabricated Valentine Diner—is now back in the family’s hands. Plans are underway for Angela’s son to reopen it as the Highway Diner, believed to be the only operational Valentine Diner left on Route 66.
Earl’s Motor Court is more than a place to sleep—it’s a living tribute to the spirit of the Mother Road. A reminder that even as the world speeds by, there’s still a place where time slows down, stories are shared, and the journey really matters.
